I like the general tone of the quotes you gave if only because they try to pry our minds off of the physical world around us that consumes our energies and becomes the object of our attention and focus, and instead tries to remind us as God-filled believers that there is a greater spiritual realm to which we were breathed from, and to which we will one day return to spend the rest of our eternal existence. (yep! all one sentence!)

I read this with a reference to John 15, where the Jesus speaks about Him being the Vine, and his Father the Vinedresser; the one that tends to the vine, cultivates.

In there He also says that we are cleaned by the WORD he has spoken to us.

Romans 1:16 says that the Gospel (good message) is God's POWER working in us, unto Salvation (wholeness).

We need to ONLY allow the WORD (CHRIST) to really confront our characters; be doers not just hearers of the WORD and it will carry out lasting change in us; preparing us to provide wonderful luscious fruit.

Mark 4:24

Amplified Bible (AMP)

24And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [a][of thought and study] you give [to [b]the truth you hear] will be the measure [c][of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you--and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.

Let us be careful to think that we need to DO anything for others or even to ourselves, let it be the WORD (Christ) in us doing everything thru us, let it be us merely using our free will to choose, and side with God to do in us what only HE can do.

Bless you, my brother in Christ.

I understand and appreciate the point that the video makes and his first sentence under the video on youtube clarifies that.
Nevertheless, we need to take care with words. The title of the video flows from the mantra, "Christianity is a relationship, not a religion."
Christians have such a hard time with "the holy conjunction"=AND.
Anyone who has read the great saints of the past knows that they spoke of true religion vs. false religion. Today, we are not concerned with truth but experience has the uperhand.
An antidote for the ills of the spirit of our times was prescribed by C.S. Lewis: "...after reading a new book, never allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one...keep the clean sea breeze of the centuries blowing through our minds..."

I noted your post on Christion Pacifism. This may be of interest:

it is also on amazon uk, I did not note your location.

I cannot be considered a professional, because writing is not yet my profession. As for where my writing comes from, it comes from the well-spring of my own experiences and heart that is constantly in search of answers to questions that seem to defy answering. When I feel I have stumbled upon some small kernel of truth, I cannot help but believe that others with the same question may also benefit and somehow be helped or inspired by my own discovery. That is who I am, and why I write.

"t is not a clap on the back and a “You did really well out there for a few moments!” " - I love this statement. That's exactly what we expect every time we try to do even the smallest thing for God's kingdom, and He wants so much more! Good post.
