A Lifetimes Lack of Faith

I was having a discussion recently with a friend of mine who is not a Christian about what he thought about Christianity. He said basically it boiled down to him not having any faith in the things that Christians sell. He believed that something created everything but that is where his beliefs in a god ended. The more I thought about it the more I realized how much his words spoke to the way I live my life.

I am so “busy” (or more accurately easily distracted by what the world deems important) that I don’t have much need/time for faith and/or God. My friend and I don’t really live very different lives except for the change that I profess but don’t really practice. Now if only knowledge of a problem was enough to produce a change in my life and my heart.

We would have a lot better chance “selling” Christianity if we actually lived it! I know my witness suffers because those around me have trouble seeing Christ’s love reflected in the way I live.

How does that effect the way you live, or does it? Is your appearance or ability to blend in more important then your witness?

Those weren’t really directed at you. Mostly at me.

We let ourselves get tied to the culture too much. I was at a bible study last night where we were looking at Paul’s conversion. He immediately asked the Lord what he was to do. I know that is what we should be doing. We don’t, though. We want to figure out a way to have our lives AND serve our God. WE try to figure out a way to serve instead of letting Him show us.
